99% of my suits were state cal-l bpo 4 krins damage mods, 1 basic damp, 1 complex damp. Only other change to my suit was an added compact hive and choice of SR as stated above.
other 1% were some for of calmando and or call assault.
I did not have fun. I took my reset, which I didn't really need and used it. Now I don't want to play any more.
conclusion:
I've come to the conclusion that the tac variant is inferior in every way to the vanilla but rate of fire, and the rate of fire is not worth the trade offs whatGÇÖs so ever. The tac has to be on the map while being immobile just like all the redline snipers. Now if I become too big a pest, people just spawn in there redline with a vanilla sr, take an easy headshot kill against my non moving body, switch out at a supply depot and gets back to the action.
The literal fix to kill an on the map sniper is to take a quick easy shot at the one sniper that chooses to be on the map. This issue makes counter-sniping easy mod, on the map sniping pointless. This is a huge imbalance of sniper vs solution, tipping the whole favour to 100% in the counters favour. In the old days if I was countered sniped I would give the snipper credit for finding me. Now I know its some easy mode scrub in his redline switching suits just to kill me. I love it when I get flanked by a shotgunner or nova knifer still.
I am going to say this for the final time. Before new map design, mood introduction, map nerfs, hitpoint increases, sttons of uplinks, speed increases, and range nerfs the on the map sniper had many roles and was an effective. Counter sniping (nobody better for the job but a sniper on the map to deal with 5-6 scrub redliners), protecting and denying flank attacks, slowing advancing enemy to an obj, weakening entrenched enemy at an obj, weakening enemy attacking squad/team members, and picking off strays while contributing meaningfully to a squads wps to get orbitals.
All of that is gone and dead. Sniping has zero roles left. All of the sniper nerfs hurt the real on the map sniper and only helped redline and killing the sniper with another sniper super easily ( the headshot multiply makes countersniping a sniper that is not moving easy while not effecting the real snipers much at all).
Side notes:
1. minmatar with regs and armour repairs are the most pointless class to shoot at. 3 shots and 1 miss against a medium suit will result in instant shields recharged to full, and armour right behind it. A new anti-shield sr variant will not fix this issue whats so ever. Min are damn near immune to and SR other than a thale to the dome. The only other suit that suck to kill with the sr is the cal sent. Mins speed+shield regen+tank+armour rep beats the sr 96 out 100 times.
2. Dom maps are too tiny on average to snipe well on combined on most tiny playable area. I think CCP thought that deep redlines would keep snipers engaged vs snipers like the vehicle vs vehicle thing. This idea failed. Even when I have 3 snipers against me on one of these maps, I still get more kills against infantry. And when the snipers actually challenge me, then neither the other snipers or myself do any good kill, wp, or sp wise. It already takes a sniper about double the matches to get a quarter the sp a redline AVer gets (wtf all the sniper hate but none from those fire and forget aholes!)
3. Most complexes negate the necessity of needing a sniper. Once one uplink is in place or any supply depot or cru is hacked, those walls cut off all sniping availability. Really, I don't need to say any more on this, it is all self explanatory.
3. Im done. This event opened my eyes to how dire the situation really is. Any immobile player on the map is shark bate to everything, even players spotted from any distance. Not to mention fish chum for those enemies that are in the redline with a long range redline rifle. I ended up spending most my time in the redline on all small redline maps and I did not like it. It was the only way to do it. I am officially done with supporting sniper rifle fixes to deaf and or dumb ears, as well as supporting this game in general. A whole class is alienated from playing 1/3 of all matches. That's what my win lose and leaves point to.
4. No isk or gear for anyone. I am from the most hated player type, and I am covered in salt.
